Weird Tales Magazine + New Contest

It’s been a wild few weeks, keep reading for updates on my story in the new issue of Weird Tales magazine and a new contest.

I’ve just wrapped up the last legs of the MAN, F*CK THIS HOUSE (AND OTHER DISASTERS) book tour with stops at the Louisiana Book Festival and Octavia Books in New Orleans. I ate my weight in shrimp and grits and had a blast with my friends Philip Fracassi, Christina Henry, Delilah Dawson, and Jenny Kiefer, all of whom have new books out you should check out. Here’s us in Baton Rouge:

From Left to Right: Christina Henry, Jenny Kiefer, Delilah Dawson, Some Asshole, Philip Fracassi

Writers are the coolest, I think we can all agree! As I mentioned, all my friends have new books out, so make sure you check out THE PLACE WHERE THEY BURIED YOUR HEART, CRAFTING FOR SINNERS, THE AUTUMN SPRINGS RETIREMENT HOME MASSACRE, and HOUSE OF IDYLL. All come highly recommended!

Weird Tales

Next, I am incredibly proud to announce the single biggest short story sale of my career. My cryptid story “Cry of the Yeti,” about the Borrego Sandman legend, will be published in the next issue of Weird Tales. My recurring occult PI character, Dex Craven, investigates a yeti kidnapping.

Being a part of a magazine with a 100-year tradition of publishing the best in weird fiction (literally the market where HP Lovecraft first published “The Call of Cthulhu”) is a very special moment for me. I can’t wait for you all to read this story. You can pre-order HERE.

New Contest: Horror Safari!

And finally, I’m excited to announce a new contest: MAN, FCK THIS SAFARI! The rules are simple: I need you to capture pictures of my latest book, MAN, F*CK THIS HOUSE (AND OTHER DISASTERS), in the wild and post to social media.

Just go to any bookstore or library, find a copy of the book on the shelf or at a table display, and take a picture. Post to Instagram and tag me (@thebrianasman) to be entered to win a $50 gift card and a signed copy of any of my books, your choice. Contest runs through the end of November, I’ll pick a winner on December 1st. So you’ve got plenty of time to hunt down my latest and enter.

Here’s an example to get those creative juices flowing:
